I happened to stumble across this little clip from an old game between Germany and France in a section from ESPN's World Cup Companion titled, I kid you not, "Five German Villains."
Here's the clip. The hip-check shown not only knocked out the Frenchmen but "shattered his vertebrae"...history repeats itself no?
